The Local 705 Green Room allows members of Locals 705 & 892 to donate or acquire costume department items at no cost, in support of reducing waste and creating more sustainable costume departments. It is maintained by the Local 705 Green Committee. The project was temporarily paused while 705 moved to its new location (5127 Laurel Canyon Blvd, Valley Village), and is now open to members.
The Local 705 Green Room is a costume community based project, and depends on our visitors to help maintain the room. Please note the following:
The items in the Green Room are first come first served. We are not currently able to keep/provide an inventory, nor can staff put an item on “hold.”
Green Room Donation Guidelines
We cannot accept:
- Clothing/costumes or accessories of any kind
- Hair/makeup items
- Used stunt pads
- Any expired spray paints, dyes or cleaning products
- Large items. (For these items please visit the Facebook page The Green Costume Department where you can post the item and share to our green costume community.)
- Broken, dirty, or poor quality items
- Shower curtains or household fabrics (costume related fabrics only please)
Also:
- Donations must be dropped off during Business Hours Monday-Friday 8:00 am -5:00 pm. You do not need to make an appointment.
- For sanitary reasons, items left outside the door after hours will be put in the trash.
- Local 705 staff are not allowed to assist you with loading or unloading. Please bring someone with you if you need assistance.
- Please put your donations in the appropriate drawers or bins, and leave the room tidy.
- The green room is for members of Local 705 & 892 only.
